Where do you start with a lawn that
has completely 'gotten away'? At
the beginning of course. Robert and
Son always start by removing the
problem, before installing the cure.
That means complete removal of
the damaged or offensive turf
areas...and often times that means
removing it the old fashion way...By

Old Fashion Rake and Shovel are the only way to deal with some problems, but they give
way to Modern Engineering and the Sod Cutter when it comes to the bulk of turf removal. In
the top left photo above we see Mom (photo 3) in a tight corner with the sod cutter. On the
right (photo 4) we see Junior attempting to 'liberate' the machine.

Robert & Son (and Mom!)
remove all the old turf and
other debris and thoroughly
rake out the former turf areas.
The soil is worked to a depth
of several inches. Gradually
fertilizers and other
enhancements are worked
into the soil. Then after all the
grounds are completely
prepared, the fresh cut sod is
delivered and installed
immediately! (Sometimes that
means working by
candlelight!)
